"Linkorange"? Why a Yoshi then
It's my website, so I might as well have a page about myself 😇. My name is Linkorange, although most people who know me simply call me Linko.
About my name...
I've seen it written in so many different ways, but it's spelled "Linkorange" as a single word, with a lowercase "o". For example, "link orange" is just an orange-colored link; and "LinkOrange"... between us, this isn't German - no need to start capitalizing letters in the middle of names 🙄.
I am... a speedrunner
I'm absolutely not a famous guy, however a few years back, my name spread shortly in France. In 2023, I joined the French charity event Speedons (you can call it the "French GDQ"), with my Low% OHKO run of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It made quite an impression at the time, and people still bring it up today from time to time 😁.
I started speedrunning in August 2014 with A Link to the Past, but I've also run quite a few other Zelda games (and even took a short detour into Metroid Dread 😄), as shown on my speedrun.com page. Over the years, I've met many wonderful people and had the chance to participate in numerous events, both online and in person, in France and in Japan, as a runner and as a commentator.
Games I've speedrun
- The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (main category: Any% NMG / signature category: Low% OHKO / way too many other categories to list here)
- Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (100% All Keys 1CC)
- The Legend of Zelda (NES) (Any% No Up+A First Quest)
- The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening DX (No S+Q/WW/OOB)
- The Legend of Zelda - The Minish Cap (Any%)
- The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask (Any% Glitchless)
- Metroid Dread (Any%)
I am... based in Japan
Another thing that defines me is that I live in Japan (which makes participating in events in France a bit complicated 😭), and I speak Japanese fluently. I've always been very interested in the original versions of the games I play. That's why I have plenty of anecdotes about the Japanese versions of many games and series, which I sometimes share on stream or on YouTube. But my main platform for that is my Linkothreads on Twitter / Bluesky.
Je suis l'un des rares abrutis à m'être embêté à terminer Breath of the Wild à 100%...

Mais comme ça m'a mis de bonne humeur, voici un florilège des spécificités de la version japonaise que j'ai pu croiser durant cette épopée !

I am... old-school
If my speedrunner hat is as I write these lines the most well-known one, it's not the only one I've worn online. I was especially active during what was later called "Web 1.0". On forums, of course, but I also contributed a lot of content to various websites. My desire to share knowledge - which I continue here - didn't start yesterday!
Where I was most active, without a doubt, was on the forum of Le Palais de Zelda, which for a long time was THE French-language reference site for the series. I joined in July 2005 and shared many great moments with the members who came and went over more than a decade: heated debates about the timeline (and I can assure you that before Skyward Sword came out, it was seriously heated 😄), IRL meetups at Paris' Japan Expo, summer community games during our holidays...
This list is FAR from exhaustive. I'm not even mentioning the sub-communities we created, the first webcam evenings long before Skype - which itself came before Discord, Zoom, and everything that followed. In short, those communities were a huge part of my youth, and if by any chance someone I met back then is reading this, I still cherish those moments to this day 🥰.
I am... a webmaster
And now? My main communication platform has always been Twitter. But since its acquisition and transformation into X, the platform's decline made me realize I was 100% dependent on it to share my knowledge and passions. Having a technical background in development, I decided to create linkoran.ge, which allows me to be more free and creative in how I share what I love.
Some might think it's a step backward: moving from a social network to a static website does seem counterintuitive. But what I lose in modernity, I gain in independence, freedom, and creativity. No more character limits, no more image limits, and I can offer fully interactive pages like the Pokémon Name Quiz or the Radiant Silvergun Chain Calculator 😄.
And I do keep up with the times! Writing on this site doesn't mean the end of my activity on social media (even if today, given how anxiety-inducing it has become, I barely use Twitter / X anymore 🙃). The dynamic will just be a bit different: I'll continue posting my anecdotes and sharing knowledge on social media, and for those who want to dive deeper into richer and more complete content, I'll share links to the pages on this site - which are here to stay, unlike the fleeting nature of social networks 😁.
